Moving the 1504. This video documents the move of the ACL 1504 from its display location in front of the ACL Headquarters (now CSX) in Jacksonville, FL., to the Prime Osborne Convention Center in downtown Jacksonville. This move was made by dragging and hauling the locomotive and tender from the ACL location to the old JUT in 1986. The move was complicated by the fact that the running gear had been welded in place, so the drivers would not turn.
The 1504 is an Alco built USRA light Pacific, originally built in 1919.
