Adaptive Restart Genetic Algorithm for Large Scale Discrete Optimization

Hi everyone, in this video, I’m going to show you my adaptive restart Genetic Algorithm for large-scale discrete optimization. This Genetic Algorithm has a mechanism to automatically restart its search process if it gets stuck in local optima. A large-scale case study on the distributed permutation flowshop scheduling problem with 200 jobs, 20 machines and 10 factories is used to test the capability of the adaptive restart Genetic Algorithm. I’m going to run the Genetic Algorithm to demonstrate its performance first, and then I will show you the Matlab code of the Genetic Algorithm, so that you can copy and customize the code to solve your problems.
