Learn how to add welds to a project using different methods. In this video, let's have a look at adding welds to a project. Open the plus button to add one weld at a time to your project. Enter the weld number. This has to be unique for the drawing and tag combination. Select the drawing and tag for the weld joint. There can only be one weld number 101 for this drawing and tag combination. Select the joint type, enter the size, select the category, and if you're using fitters or boilermakers, you can pick the ID here. Set a date when you expect the weld joint will be welded. So this is actually the date when weld is planned. WeldTrace shows a Gantt chart with this information. When you save, in case there are any errors, those fields will be highlighted. Otherwise, just save. And we have added weld number 101. Now, the next method is to use a spreadsheet to add more than one weld at the same time. You can also revise the welds that are in planned state using this interface. If you see the calendar button, it means the welds are in planned state, and you'll be able to revise them. So let's move back to the add interface. And let's say I want to add three wells. When you use the fill handle, the weld numbers get incremented automatically. All the other details are copied down to the other rows. You can also copy the data here from an Excel file. And if you need to adjust the column width, you can do that. And next time you come to this interface, the column width settings will be remembered. Now we have added numbers one, zero, two, three, and four. The third method is to import weldls that you may have in a CSV file. You can download the template, fill in the form, and all the information, then upload the file. I have all the welds that I want to import in this CSV file. WeldTrace has read the file and it's showing these welds against this drawing and tag, along with the other information. When you click create, these wells will be created in the project. Now the fourth method is using the weld map. For that, refer to the video that is on weld mapping. You can annotate on a drawing and create weld joints automatically. Previously, we created weld joints using weld mapping for this drawing. All the other welds added through the different interfaces get added to the same drawing, and you can see these 32 welds are in planned state. This article explained how to add welds to a project using various methods in WeldTrace, including manual entry, spreadsheet import, CSV upload, and weld mapping.
