Here is a list that I've compiled of recommended acting classes at colleges as well as at Actor Training studios here in LA. Colleges **I checked several sources; the colleges at the top of the list had the most recommendations: Tisch School of the Arts, NYU Julliard Boston University Univ of N. Carolina CalArts (Valencia, CA) Carnegie Mellon (Penn) DePaul (Chicago) Actors Studio at Pace University Syracuse Rutgers (NJ) Univ of Connecticut Univ of Texas, Austin Brown USC School of Dramatic Arts UC Irvine U of Washington Yale School of Drama Emerson (I hear this school is especially supportive of LGBTQ students - YES!!!) Ithaca Northwestern State Univ of NY at Purchase American Conservatory Theater (San Fran) A.R.T. at Harvard UCLA Emory (I had to mention this one bc there is SOOOO much work for actors in Atlanta right now) Options in the UK: Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Royal Central School of Speech & Drama Bristol Old Vic OK, and for the studios here in LA where you can attend on-going classes forever and ever (in no particular order): Christina Chauncey On-Camera classes John Rosenfeld Studios (they also have a great youth program) BGB Studio Leigh Kilton Smith's Audition Theory class Howard Fine (for newbies) Larry Moss (for advanced actors) Kerrie Keane Margie Haber Anthony Meindl Annie Grindley Lesly Kahn & Co.
