Equipment needed;
1. Aerogen Head
2. Blue line adapter
3. Mask or T-Piece adapter for ventilator
4. Aerogen Controller
Verify order in patient’s chart
Verify rate and dose on syringe
Procedure;
1. Turn on
2. Select option #1 ml/hr
3. On next screen, select option #1 B-D
4. Load syringe
5. Input rate (ml/hr)
6. Bolus medication through blue line
7. Select ‘Start’
Document under continuous in medicated aerosol therapy at the time of administration and then 30min after. Then document every 2hrs until medication is completed.
