After Effects & Photoshop & Illustrator - Part 2 | Adobe After Effects Tutorial
This episode is part 2 of a 2 part series that covers issues when working between Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects. If you haven't watched the previous episode, I highly recommend that you check it out. It's not necessary to capture the concepts we'll be going over in this episode, but it will give you a much better understanding of how these three apps work together. In this episode, we will cover how to export layers out of After Effects to be used in Illustrator or Photoshop. We'll also cover issues you may encounter while working with text layers between these three apps. The Power of Shape Layers: https://www.udemy.com/course/power-of-shape-layers/?referralCode=24E547D800E148568895 _____________ Make sure you're using the same versions of Ae, Ai, and Ps - issues may arise with compatibility if you are using different versions of these three apps. Ae-Ai Text_Images: composition/save frame as/photoshop layers - Save file as - Export comp with an alpha matte - Notice the notification - In Ai - choose Show Preview and Convert Layers to Objects - Open in both Ai and Ps and see that the alpha matte didn't take. Ai and Ps cannot recognize matte layers from Ae - To fix this, use SET MATTE - Save file as - and notice that the matte is now there - Notice for resizing - Ai: hold down SHIFT to retain image's size - Ps: do NOT hold down SHIFT to retain image's size ONE CAVEAT: there is no way to make text editable when going from Ae to Ai/Ps, so you will need to create the text layers in Ai or PS.
