Aikido/Ken Suburi
The following publication describes one of my personal methods that I use to perfect my Ken suburi according to the basic form taught by Morihiro Saito Shihan, who was a direct student and training partner of the founder of Aikido O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba for 24 years. The different movements that appear in the video are executed slowly to allow practitioners to clearly visualize the trajectory of the frontal and lateral cuts specific to the practice of Ken of Aikido as taught in Iwama as well as the correct way to '' perform the Tsuki in the 6th and 7th Suburi while having a good hips rotation. It is also important to focus all your attention on the body shapes to adopt during the practice of each suburi such as the centering of the body before, during and the end of each cutting or spades movement which will bring constant stability in the sequences. fluid and fast with your training partner during lessons at the Dojo. Morihiro Saito Shihan very often recalled during the seminars he led in Japan or in the West that the practice of Suburis significantly improved the practice of bare hands techniques (Tai-Jutsu) and allowed a better understanding of Aikido.
