Air Force Technical Training ("tech school") is the specialized training phase following Basic Military Training (BMT) where Airmen learn job-specific skills based on their Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC).
Training lasts from 6 to 72 weeks at various bases, with primary locations at Keesler, Goodfellow, Sheppard, and JBSA-Lackland.
Environment: A structured, professional setting with classroom instruction, hands-on training, and dorm-style living.
Phases: Airmen move through phases (I, II, III) that dictate privileges (uniform vs. civilian clothes, on-base vs. off-base) based on time in training and behavior
