Al Fulk

The Landing Platform Dock Al Fulk is one of the most advanced warships in service with the Qatari Navy, designed to combine amphibious transport with air and ballistic missile defense capabilities. Built by Italy’s Fincantieri and delivered in late 2024, the ship represents a key element of Qatar’s naval modernization. Measuring 143 meters in length with a displacement of 8800 tons, Al Fulk can reach speeds of up to 20 knots and operate at ranges of 7000 nautical miles. The vessel features an extended flight deck for NH90 helicopters, a floodable well deck, and facilities to carry over 400 troops. Equipped with Leonardo Kronos Power Shield radar, SYLVER A50 vertical launch systems firing Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles, and layered close-in defenses, Al Fulk serves not only as an amphibious platform but also as a credible air and missile defense asset within a modern naval task group.
