Al Seef, Dubai.

Hello! This video is a walk-through of Al Seef in Dubai, including scenes of the hotel. At first, I didn't believe it was a hotel as it looked as though it was a fort built for war a million years ago and might be unsafe for any living thing to inhabit. It was also a surprise that my father had planned for our family vacation. With my father being my father, he led us to believe that we were going to stay in an archaic place with no internet nor electricity. My brother and I didn't believe him as he tends to fool us but as we drove closer to our destination our confidence slowly faded away and then we remembered that he once had us stay in a houseboat without heat in Kashmir when it was freezing cold, but that's a story for another time. So here we were in the forty-degree (celsius) weather standing outside this long-standing structure and all I could remember was wanting to sleep as we had just arrived from Trinidad. We walked inside and to my surprise, the room was air-conditioned and we were greeted with a cold red drink that tasted like sorrel, served in a glass. It was then that I was able to truly appreciate my surroundings. It was beautiful. I later discovered that it was a hotel situated in Bur Dubai that was built to incorporate the Emirati culture and heritage, and where "old meets new." This statement could not be any more accurate. We stayed in Bayt 4 and our room was equipped with everything a modern-day hotel would have because essentially it is one! Maybe even better as we were right above a Starbucks! It was perfectly positioned as our rooms looked over the Dubai Creek with a lovely view of the traditional abras. We even rented one for an hour and got a tour of Dubai Creek! It was certainly a memorable experience and I hope this encourages you to visit at least once. I would like to take a moment to apologise for the shakiness of the video as I filmed it on my phone all in one night.
