Aleph 5 Class A Amplifier; Power Factor Explained
This video is about Aleph 5 Class A; Power Factor Explained. I'll show the difference in power factor from a sine wave load to a rectified power supply with load. The Power supply with bridge rectifier and capacitors will be tested to show power factor and how to size the transformer. In previous videos in this series I show the initial build stages and how to properly apply thermal compound to a transistor to then mount to the heat sink. I showed a SPICE schematic in Micro-Cap, and I ran a simulation to show how flat the gain response is over the frequency band. I'll also show the parts that I bought to improve the parts that came in the kit. This will be followed up with me building up the boards and test them. Then I'll build the Power Supply to go with it. I'll actually build several to see what works best, and then finally install it in a box and perform final testing.
