The Allen Mouse Brain Atlas is a comprehensive, high-resolution atlas of gene expression in the adult mouse brain. Utilizing in situ hybridization, this atlas was the Allen Institute’s first major project as an organization. It reports relative expression levels—as opposed to absolute read counts—of RNA reflected through a z-score and reveals where each gene is expressed in the mouse brain.
