I had hastily put together a competition in honour of our annual King of the Street. In end it was a rainy day but it didn't stop us. We had a group of 30 skaters and spectators. It was a gathering of the Calgary hardcore skate community. Inline and roller skaters were out in full force. Watching this video leaves me with a mixed emotions. On one hand it was an amazing day of skating with a stupefying group of life long dedicated skaters. On the other I feel a sense of nostalgic melancholy. The whole thing is almost too fun. And I am afraid that I am not longer willing to put the time into organizing similar events in the future. Not saying that I won't do it but as I plan out my summer it is seemingly unlikely.
