Alocasia🌿 Update on the Alocasia that I had high hopes of just being dormant...👀...wishful thinking!😂 Moral of the story, just because there is no growth above the soil doesn't mean there isn't life beneath it! Look at those corms before tossing your Alocasia out! (We all know we've tossed out a "few"!) In addition to the update, moving the surviving Alocasia that have leaf growth to pon. The corms that still need space to grow will go into my Bin O' Corms! What is pon? Pon is a soil-free, mineral-based plant substrate made of pumice, lava rock, and zeolite. It looks like little rocks, but it’s designed specifically for growing plants in a semi-hydroponic setup, use of the self watering pots is necessary as pon dries quickly! I do make my own pon, much more cost effective, link below to the curation of everything I used here. What are self watering pots? These pot have a couple different parts. The base holds water, the top part is where you plant the plant in the pon with use of the cotton wick. The wick is in the top part with your plant, the bottom of the wick is in the reservoir filled with water. You will have to make sure to keep water in the reservoir, these pots are perfect use to keep the pon moist, the plant watered, and takes away the thought of "do I need to water"? I know...a lot of information. I'm still learning myself but am excited to try something new because what I'm doing now isn't working! 😂 Curation: https://www.amazon.com/shop/kasslovesplants_/list/12EMXF36139F9?ref_=aipsflist
