ALONE Challenge. My 10 Essential Survival Items

If I had the chance to compete on History Channel's ALONE, these are the 10 survival items I'd bring to give myself the best shot at lasting in the wild. From shelter and fire to food and gear maintenance, every piece of kit serves a critical purpose. • Sleeping Bag – Staying warm is survival 101. Hypothermia is a game-ender. • 2-Quart Metal Pot – Boiling water, cooking food, and even making glue or char cloth. A must-have. • 12x12 Tarp – A versatile piece of shelter that keeps me dry and can be used for gathering water. • Bivy Bag – Adds extra warmth and protection from the elements, making sleep more efficient. • Ferro Rod with Striker – Reliable fire-starting in any conditions. • Machete – Combines chopping, carving, and self-defense into one tool. • Fishing Line & Hooks – Passive food gathering is key to long-term survival. • Sewing Kit – Repairs gear, clothing, and even stitches wounds if needed. • 3 Pounds of Salt – Essential for preserving food, replenishing electrolytes, and adding much-needed flavor. • Bow and Arrows - The possibility of taking large game would be a game changer.
