The performance on this video was realized on a 4th generation engineering prototype. The Monolithic Two-Dimensional Multitimbral Keyboard (Monolith for short) allows a musician to perform live all the parts of a multitimbral composition simultaneously by manual fingering alone, on a two-dimensional plane. Each linear chromatic row is a different MIDI channel therefore a different instrument. A player assigns different fingers to different rows or instruments at any given moment in time.
