This has been the worst winter on record, so it’s no surprise that a 3 inch storm on top of weeks of hardened snow and ice would actually excite some locals. The “storm” cleared quickly and the bluebird skies on top of the whopping amount of snow actually did make for a beautiful day.
The mountain opened up from wall to wall, minus East Castle and Baldy, so there was plenty of room for skiers to space themselves out. The snow stayed untracked. And we even found some runs that didn’t have an obvious hard under layer. All in all, a way better day than the rest of the month!
