Charging systems are critical to the operation of a vehicle. At the heart, the alternator uses mechanical energy created by the engine to produce electricity. This electricity is first created as alternating current and must be rectified or converted to direct current. All of these steps require different components that must work in concert. In this video, we review common test methods for verifying the voltage, current and rectification abilities of the charging system. It is worth noting, there are additional tests that can and often should be performed to verify the control side of the charging system. These elements are not covered in this video. ********* Components in the video: - SnapOn / Bluepoint MTIND683A Meter - allsun AC/DC Current Clamp ( https://amzn.to/3MT4zYp ) - Sun Voltage Amperage Tester Model 40 - ESI 710 Battery Load Tester ( https://amzn.to/3mQVo06 ) - PicoScope 4425A ********* Enjoyed the video?
