Amigos Juntos
"Amigos Juntos" Arturo O'Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra Composed by Mario Rivera Arranged by Todd Bashore Mario Rivera was a founding member of the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra; a revered virtuosic multi-instrumentalist and beloved mentor to countless musicians. The evening featured guest artists who loved and worked with Rivera including George Coleman, Ray Vega, Papo Vazquez & Phoenix Rivera. The program included a re-creation of Rivera's classic recording, El Commandante. "Mario was a musician and a gentleman, a philosopher and scientist. He spoke gently and commanded the stage with his giant presence on any number of instruments, such as trumpet, vibes, all the saxophones, timbales, and flutes. He was way beyond category; he was a musician's musician." - Arturo O'Farrill Website: http://afrolatinjazz.org/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/afrolatinjazzorchestra Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/afrolatinjazz MySpace: https://myspace.com/afrolatinjazzalliance Video by Andreas Klein Videos
