Amplitude Modulation (AM): Amplitude modulation (AM) is a modulation technique used in electronic communication, most commonly for transmitting information via a radio carrier wave. In amplitude modulation, the amplitude (signal strength) of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to the waveform being transmitted. Modulation index: The amplitude modulation, AM, modulation index can be defined as the measure of the extent of amplitude variation about an un-modulated carrier. The modulation index for amplitude modulation, AM, indicates the amount by which the modulated carrier varies around its static un-modulated level. In this video Amplitude modulation is briefly explained and demonstrated in MATLAB.
