an interview with oceanic-air

Like many young musicians, Oceanic-Air is driven by influence. Their unabashed love for unconventional and uncompromising artists like Swans and Boris cleanly reflects in their work, being a relentless output of genre collages blending dance pop, post rock, and hip hop. As they put it in the interview, there's an early stage in creating music where you have this beginning freedom to essentially do whatever you want whenever you want with your music, an inexperienced but passionate drive to create. That being said, I feel like in many ways Oceanic-Air is ahead of the pack, in the short time frame they've been releasing music an impressively consistent body of work has already been developed, and what's to come is anybody's guess. Kinda reminds me of when I was in my bedroom downloading the strangest type beats imaginable, just hitting record and saying whatever came to mind. In my case it was mostly poorly constructed metaphors and stilted flows but whatever it got me to where I'm at now.
