Angular Momentum Free Response AP Physics 1 Exam A puck of mass mp slides across a horizontal surface and collides with a stationary, nonuniform rod that is pivoted about its left end in three configurations, as shown. In each case, the puck travels with the same initial velocity vp and collides with the rod at time tc. In Case 1 the puck rebounds away from the rod, in Case 2 the puck comes to rest after the collision with the rod, and in Case 3 the puck sticks to the rod. Frictional effects between the rod, puck, and floor, as well as frictional effects of the pivot, are small enough to be considered negligible. On the graph below, sketch and label the two quantities as a function of time for Case 1. You do not need to calculate values for the y -axis, but the same vertical scale should be used for both quantities. i. Angular momentum of the puck ii.
