The High Point Police Department has three employees who serve as Animal Control Officers. They are non-sworn officers who are responsible for animal control-related calls for service, and enforce animal-related ordinances and laws. The officers are trained in handling and evaluating the condition of various animals. They are also knowledgeable about city ordinances, and county and state laws dealing with animals.
