http://www.patreon.com/popetc short version: we’re starting a Patreon. for those of you who don’t know what Patreon is, it’s basically a platform that allows us to connect directly with our fans (you!). you throw down a few bucks a month to support us, and we repay you by sending you brand new and unreleased songs, demos, acoustic versions, private livestream shows, covers by request, handwritten lyrics, special merch, Q&A’s, and well, whatever you guys want! we have a TON of unreleased stuff we want to share with you all, from the morning benders to POP ETC times. this is an amazing way to connect with us and support us directly- no labels or middlemen. just us! come join! long version: I’m going to level with you guys, like many indie artists and bands, this year has not been kind to us. the music industry is already pretty broken and a very hard way to make a living given the extremely small margins artists make on streaming and the like. this pandemic has not helped matters. touring is impossible. a lot of the licensing opportunities have dried up. for producers & songwriters like myself, hosting sessions with other musicians is more or less impossible if you want to be safe and social distance. beyond that, as an artist I’ve always felt kind of trapped by the traditional album cycle the music industry thrives on. i have so much music to share. lots of different kinds of songs. i like making things and putting them out fast. i like getting your feedback and incorporating it in real time during the creative process. all these things are near impossible in the old model. which brings us to Patreon!! we absolutely love making music, and we don’t ever want to stop. I love writing songs, and I love connecting with our fans... and I miss all of you! it's been one of my greatest joys in life to meet so many of you at our shows all around the world and i'm so excited to reconnect with you all in this way through Patreon. this feels exciting and like something new, and i think it could be amazing. to be honest, i'm not sure exactly how this is going to go. it's going to be a living, breathing thing. so i'll be taking requests, asking you all questions, and getting feedback from you as much as possible. basically i want to make this Patreon into whatever you all want it to be! so lets do this! thank you so much for your support, i honestly can't tell you how much it means to me that you've all stuck with us. especially during these tough times. thank you thank you thank you. here's what we have on our Patreon right now- - the original acoustic demo of “Excuses” - a brand new POP ETC song called “Playing For Keeps” - 2 new covers, Sam Cooke’s “Cupid” and The Strokes’ “You Only Live Once.” - an acoustic version of our song “is” from the terror in resonance soundtrack - AND I’ll be doing private livestream concerts EVERY MONTH, and taking your requests!
