This may be a useful camera hack for those who prefer round stars. Some astrophotographers prefer rounded stars as opposed to the diffracted ones you get from Newtonian’s or stopped down camera lenses. If you have shot many lenses you will realize quickly that the majority of them display coma and other aberrations when wide open. You need to close the aperture. By doing so you typically introduce diffraction spikes based on the type and number of aperture blades in your lens. This hack uses stepping rings to maintain circular lens stoppage to reduce aberration while maintaining round stars. Clear skies.
