Apollo 17 Complete Countdown & Launch (Astro Comm Loop)

Apollo 17 ASTRO COMM LOOP During the countdown for an Apollo/Saturn mission the crew, once in the spacecraft, spoke to various NASA personnel over a communications loop known as the "Astro Comm" Loop. This is the first time in 50+ years that the Apollo 17 astro comm loop has been heard in it's entirety. The crew, as was the standard routine, were in contact with Skip Chauvin, the Apollo Test Conductor, who guided the astronauts through the checklists and ensured that all switch positions etc were set correctly before launch. The crew could also talk to the Pad Leader, Gunther Wendt, the CapCom in Houston, Bob Overmyer and various other managers and controllers over the loop. In this tape we can only hear the astronauts responses and questions as the other side of the loop is not currently available. We can also hear them checking off the items on the checklist and discussing various other this, from the weather to Thomas Hardy! It is recommended the viewer wears headphones - Astro Loop is in the left channel and the PAO loop is in the right channel.
