Apple tree ants
Lyrics: Last night upon a quiet apple tree a war began Not of men but of ants A brutal clash where countless heads were lost and tiny limbs left broken on the battlefield I stood there watching a silent witness to something deeply unsettling In the end I caught one a single ant And I asked what caused this chaos why do you fight weren’t you once united The ant still holding a severed leg spoke We were one one body one soul from a single nest we lived as one Whatever we found a grain a crumb we carried it together No division no conflict only purpose But then everything changed Our night guard saw something in the sky Endless grains scattered across the heavens a promise of abundance At dawn we marched Through dust through sand toward a towering tree a ladder to the sky But the path it split Three directions three choices One turned right refusing all else Another turned left blind to the rest And I chose the middle path the only true path I led thousands believing we were right Then he came The king With wings and fury in his voice Return or be destroyed We follow one path any who divide will be erased And so the war began The tree became a battlefield a graveyard of our own making That’s when I saw him The king calling for war Something felt familiar I stepped closer looked into his eyes And I recognized him Not as a king But as something far worse A reflection of history’s darkest rulers I couldn’t let it continue So I ended it With a single strike Then I took a broom and white lime And cleansed the tree But the question remains Was it only the ants who were at war If this made you think — like, comment, and subscribe.
