Applying Modes and More 🎼
Applying Modes and More Note, one mistake to correct, F#m scale would fit Aeolean positioning (6th mode) for the A Major Key. Also, F# Harmonic Minor fits Aeolian positioning for A Augmented Key Formula. However, Melodic Minor Scale provides its Ionian (1st) positioning for that key. I stumbled over the words during that mode in this vid and said it in reverse or something, but I think ya can figure out whakt I meant. Will try to do correctionhs vid at end of series but, for most part, this is how I see and write when it comes to music. Simplest formatting, and then branch out from there. Track the notes, track the alts, work the theory and style it. It's a lot of math in circles, and recognizing patterns, and fun. 😁 Modes = Ionian, Dorian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Phrygian, Aeolian, and Locrean. 1-7. G Major's notes are G, A, B, C, D, E , F#, G. Each note in the key is a start point for a mode's initial and dominant scale and chord. So, second position, Dorian, for G key, would be an Am chord and the notes for the Key of G scaled from the A note start point. If we go to a Gm Key, our formula becomes, well, notes for Gm = G, A, Bb, C, D, E, F#, G. We must adjust our Modes accordingly to pick up that b3 application. In other words, adjusting for the Bb note in the key. Anytime the Key Formula is altered, we must alter our Modes and adjust.
