There are as many opinions on whether or not you should wear gloves when working in the shop, perhaps as many opinions as there are blacksmiths. I will offer my two cents and hopefully clear some of the confusion on why gloves may be a hidden danger as well as some of the options if you do chose to wear gloves in the shop. As always your safety is your responsibility, if you feel that the information presented represents a safety risk in your shop it is up to you to make the right choice and keep yourself safe. No one can be responsible for your safety except you. And remember, always wear your safety glasses.
