Are Miyazaki Films Really Solarpunk?
Solarpunk seems to be the next trendy subgenre within science fiction after steampunk and cyberpunk, standing out mainly due its emphasis on an optimtistic vision of the future and a belief in the technology's capacity to peacefully coexist with nature. As far as film and television go, there don't seem to be many works that embody the genre, and the closest references have been made about Hayao Miyazaki's filmography.
