Army Ready, Soldier Strong 2018
Army Ready, Soldier Strong Every 1st July, we celebrate SAF Day. Let us take this opportunity to also look back at some of the key Army achievements over the last year. We celebrated 50 years of National Service (NS) and held the Army Open House to share our Army experience with fellow Singaporeans. We honoured our National Servicemen, their families, loved ones, employers, and the wider Singapore community who have supported the Singapore Army and NS. From the largest mobilisation exercise in decades to the opening of the Island Defence Training Institute, the Army continues to enhance its homeland security readiness. Our units continue to hone their operational readiness through local and overseas exercises, and we’ve forged stronger ties with other foreign armed forces through bilateral and multilateral exercises. Through innovations, we raise our capabilities and improve our efficiency. As part of our efforts in the Soldier Strong campaign, the Centre of Excellence for Soldier Performance was established to enhance soldier performance and increase the combat potential of every soldier and develop them to be physically strong, mentally resilient and adaptive. We also hosted the ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet, ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting and ASEAN Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting, bolstering professional interaction, and strengthening social bonds and camaraderie amongst the ASEAN armies. Here’s a look at some of our Army’s highlights in the previous year! #ArmyReadySoldierStrong
