Article indication

Here I discuss and show a few different options for teaching and article indication. These can be used as a first step to teaching your dog what to do when finding an article. Option 1- Basic classical conditioning when pairing the article with a mechanical marker to obtain a reward. Option 2- Using a pvc end cap with an article placed on top and again pairing the article with a marker to obtain a reward, which is placed in the end cap. Option 3- Using a toy to build drive and then pairing the indication with obtaining the toy as a reward. The end of the video shows a more experienced dog on a hard surface scent pad trying to locate a tiny article. The final video is of my young development dog on a scent pad with no indications, just building desire for the search. The indication is built away from the scent pad and when he's ready I'll bring them together. Thanks for watching!
