Ascend FLIGHT FEST

We put on a Fest! An intimate event to celebrate bodyflight, we had an awesome time at this 4 day event down in Max's hometown, Skydive Carolina. We wanted to put on the most fun skills camp ever, with small group goals that turned to pieces of bigger jumps later on. Even with a bit of weather at the front end, we did sweet things in town (like bowl somewhat terribly and golf decently well), and made a bunch of jumps on our weekend days to make up for the clouds! Thank you so much to everyone who came out for this event! We had so much fun hanging out with everyone and trying all sorts of ideas! There were impeccable vibes all around every day! Many thanks to our epic coaches, a lineup including: Max Markolf, Jake Carlton, Neil Kuhlman, Remi Angeli, Gil Guevara, and Jesse Weyher. Many thanks to Skydive Carolina for hosting us as well! So on a different note, I've been asking around, looking for feedback on what people really want to see on video in skydiving. The overwhelming thing I heard across all boards was: make it more real. Not just the perfect shots when everything goes good; show the learning, the silly moments on the ground, the weird exits, the ejections into space, and also the big victories when someone nails a big push back into slot or saves a transition! I've got it all in here, sweet and sour, sprinkled throughout in a pretty raw look at one of the most fun parts of our sport. Give the people what they want! I've been chasing after a more old-skool ski vid vibe myself, so I present to you my own imperfections with shaky camera shots, a bit of poor lighting, smokey conditions, and some questionable music choices. Shooting and flying in the haze is kind of a trip, but I can't get enough of it's visual strangeness and I hope you all enjoy it as well.
