Efforts to preserve brown ash from the emerald ash borer (EAB) are ongoing. Presenters will discuss work led by the Ash Protection Collaboration Across Waponahkik at the University of Maine and Tribal partners to document genetic diversity in brown ash populations, collect and store seed for long-term conservation, and harvest basket-quality trees before widespread mortality occurs. They’ll also discuss how landowners can help with sampling, seed collection, and harvest of brown ash stands.
