ASSASSIN (unfinished)

i honestly wanted to finish this by 2024, i REALLY wanted this to be my best layout. but as time went on i realised that i strated hating what i was building. it took so much precision and effort to even get one second of gameplay done, and even afterwards it would be unplayable to anyone other than me. i can play this level. i’d even go on a limb and say that it is fun to play. but in the end its just going to be another ‘fun to watch, shit to play’ level, which is what i swore not to become at the start of the year. if im making layouts in a 2d jumping game, i dont want it to feel like youtube fodder at the expense of the level’s playability. but at the same time i was proud of what i made. the cannon and slash orb gimmivk is really unique, in the fact that you will only be launched if you click; meaning that your level’s sync is entirely reliant on your inputs. however i didnt execute it that well in this level. ive always wanted to have a balance in flashiness and gameplay, and now maybe im taking it too far. the sad thing is, i dont know whether ill be able to make a normal layout again without the use of flashy visuals. and honestly, i dont think it would even be good. song: muse - assassin inspired by: machinegun psystyle - lunatic crew evil inside - akapple
