Assembling & Testing Single Cylinder Air Engine

In this video I will show you yet another one of my wooden air engine creations. I built this single cylinder engine to try to come up with a simple and effective design for the air inlet. All I can say is that, even though this engine works it's disaster. It is way to inefficient, the intake valve leaks like crazy & the more air pressure you add, the harder the engine have to work to overcome the friction of the inlet slide valve. This is also the engine I took inspiration from when I built my 8 cylinder air engine, I changed some small things on the new design but I can't say it improved things much at all. Even though I prefer to call this one & my 8 cylinder radial engine a failure, I've learned a lot of things that I will have great use for later when I build the next engine.
