Atari ST - The midi machine that started it all

Yes crew!! So happy to finally have this Atari ST in my studio after so many years of asking for it. Did I mention it was my dad’s? :)) Lots of great memories from way back, hanging out with him and making music on this thing. The fact that he didn’t live with us when I was a kid probably made it even more special—and now that I live a million miles away from home, it’s even more important to me. I just love that this thing still works after more than 30 years, including the more recent part of its life sitting in storage over in the Canary Islands. And now here it is, working perfectly and ready to make tracks with. Mind blown!! Making music on machines with this kind of history just gets me going. I’m not quite so amazed when my MacBook boots up, you know? Well, saying that, it’s a 2013 model—so maybe I should be.
