Memorial song for Maj. Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier in WWII. I wrote this song in 1972 in the BOQ at Ft. Knox one year after Audie passed. That was not a popular time for the military and the general public hardly noticed his passing.
The recording was an acetate demo of the song I made later that year in Hollywood. It was recorded in one take with no editing and no effects but a little reverb.
I dedicate this song to all who have given their lives in defense of our unique American Liberty.
May God Bless Them All!
