Audio Switch with CD4066
This is a follow on to Part 6 of the ESP32 Radio series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlqE-FiX18E Quick update: I redid this circuit with a 10k/10k resistor divider on input *and* output and the pops in the audio disappeared pretty much entirely. In that video I talk about the need for an Audio switch. In this video I use the CD4066 Quad Bilateral switch as an audio switch. Jump ahead to 2:27 if you want to skip the discussion of the transceiver audio switching Here's the datasheet for CD4066 https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/cd4066b.pdf Here's where I purchased them from (no affiliation) https://www.ebay.com/itm/224048980616 Here's a couple of excellent articles on audio switching https://easyeda.com/jaqwerty/Audio-Switch-on-CD4066 https://www.neatcircuits.com/audiosw/index.html I haven't uploaded the ESP32 code to github because it was a simple extension of the "blink" program. Please let me know if you have any questions on the ESP32 setup Note: for the audio switch in the radio I would actually need two CD4066s - i.e. 2 x DPDT switches. 0:00 Intro 0:52 Audio Switch I/Q signals in the Transceiver 2:27 CD4066 Background and Pinout 4:00 CD4066 as SPST audio switch 5:01 SPST in Action 5:44 CD4066 as SPDT audio switch 7:11 SPDT in Action 8:35 Note on tying Control pins to ground 9:10 Controlling the switch with an ESP32
