Autechre - column thirteen

FLASHING WARNING! NOT MY MUSIC! Halfway there...and more. This is my attempt to painstakingly visualize the entire Autechre collection of NTS Sessions. Well, here we are at the last set of NTS...and I wanr you, it's gonna get weirder from here. Challenging music sometimes deserves challenging visuals, I think-- plus the music is literally the basis of these visuals, so..... I've already visualized most of the Autechre catalog of albums, so not like it's a new thing to me. o_o (Link at the bottom is easy.) These videos were crafted lovingly in kdenlive and DaVinci Resolve, both fine tools for such work. No AI was used, all built from the pixel up, using the actual audio waveforms as source materials. Where it goes depends upon what they look like...and me. :) I hope these visualizations help more people discover the denser body of Autechre's work. To me, they've sat on the bleeding edge of music since they started *almost*. I can't really say that for anyone else, not like I do for them. Sure, it's challenging material...but it's also largely now crafted live...also known as...'brapping'. CAN RELATE. They just call it gonking, yo. I can't tell you how many arguments people started over this-- and then COVID made Sean reach out for weeks on end and I simply asked him. Yeah, brapping and gonking is same same. Worthwhile to know this if hanging around this channel, eh. With each project, I try to expand my skills in particular areas, use that focus to shape an album of material. Also...we're trying 60fps from here...but I might revert to 30fps, this slows the process down so much on this PC I am stuck with for the moment---- UPDATE! Months past being stuck on that PC now! LOVING this new one it's tiny and cute and somehow the most powerful PC I've owned in almost 40 years of owning them. I highly recommend 64gb of RAM, for one thing. OM NOM NOM. NTS 4 should be done before summer 2026. Lots of upcoming fun on this channel. I got wonderfully sidetracked by the amazing game Satisfactory, the funnest I've played-- and I am older than video games, yo. This recharged my creative batteries and 2026 is going to be off the hook, yes 80s vernacular comes easily to me, no I don't get why people revere the 80s, I was there and almost conscious. Ahem. MUCH more to come, gods be willing. Also...notice the upgrade lately? It's more than a new machine, it's a new screen AND uploading in 4k native. Huge, upgrade to how YouTube treats the material. In time, expect a refresh of all the old videos with newer versions that actually show what I made, as it is doing a very fine job of now. Thank you, YouTube.
