In this session, Dave Specht (Senior Fellow at the Drucker School of Management) interviewed Jim Shields about his book Wealth That Lasts: 10 Principles of Legacy Wealth. Jim Shields is a serial entrepreneur, strategic investor, and seasoned attorney with 40+ years of experience working with founder-led businesses. He holds substantial legal and business experience in various industries and enjoys managing complex commercial litigation and representing financial institutions and capital intermediaries. Jim regularly lectures on topics like the management of complex legal disputes and litigation strategy, the art of negotiation, and the anatomy of a real estate transaction. Jim is passionate about giving back to the North Texas community and fostering young entrepreneurs. He founded IMPACT 365, a community involvement project that encourages intentional acts of service. He also supports the Communities Foundation of Texas, which focuses on business partnering with charities. Jim received his JD from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
