In this session, Dave Specht (Director of the Drucker School Global Family Business Institute) interviewed Sudev Sheth on his book Bankrolling Empire: Family Fortunes and Political Transformation in Mughal India. Sudev Sheth is a Senior Lecturer in History at both The Lauder Institute and the Department of History at the University of Pennsylvania. He was previously the Harvard Harvard-Newcomen Fellow in Business History at Harvard Business School, where he taught both MBA and doctoral students. His research interests include the social and cultural history of South Asia, as well as business history and family enterprise in past and present societies. Sheth earned a PhD in History and South Asia Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a BA in South and Southeast Asian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
