Automated imposition in CorelDraw

ReproScripts Auto Imposition plugin is designed to solve a wide range of tasks related to the layout of designs on a printed sheet. It can be used with both offset and digital presses. To start working with the plug-in, you need to set the parameters of your press by clicking on the settings icon in the lower right corner of the window. Mandatory parameters that are necessary for the plug-in to work correctly include the dimensions of the offset printing plate, the size of the printable area and also the indent from the edge of the plate to the first element of the layout. For a digital press, these parameters are of course not used. Be sure to specify a list of paper sizes that are used for printing. As a starting point, you can quickly load standard sizes and later add to the list as needed. The plugin also allows you to place additional standard graphics on the plate, for example your logo or control elements for outputting plates to the CTP. We will add a file with a control scale at a distance of 10 to the left and 10 millimetres from the bottom of the plate. Let's save the settings and try how the plugin works. First add a new working project and select our printing machine and suitable paper size from the list. The upper list on the right is for adding artworks from one or more CorelDraw documents that will be used in the layout. By clicking on the first button, we will place the page of the currently open document in the list. The plugin can analyse the document and collect all the inks used in it, information about which will be included in the layout. Now the correct strategy for placing jobs on the printed sheet remains, for example, to minimise the amount of paper waste. This parameter is important for the simultaneous layout of several works with different required quantity. In the case of a single job layout, this is not so important. Everything is ready. Let's launch the project. The plugin will automatically calculate the optimal layout of your work on the printed sheet and add all the necessary elements. At the bottom is the control bar for CTP, which we specified in the settings. Trim marks, register crosses and names of all inks are also added. A color control bar is formed on top. And at the same time the layout is created as a CorelDraw document which is open for manual adjustment if the need arises. If we measure the arrangement of the elements, we will make sure that they exactly correspond to the parameters of the press that we specified in the settings. The ReproScripts Auto Imposition plug-in is a powerful, fast and convenient tool that optimises and accelerates many of the operations that occur when imposing on a printed sheet.
