This demo is the culmination of my long-term project to build an automatic, actuated dust shoe that's integrated with my automatic tool changer (ATC) routines, and is extremely efficient at chip collection.
This dust shoe is designed for high suction (a dust separator with high static pressure), carefully concentrated in a small area directly around the cutting tool. This makes it possible for the shoe and all plumbing (1-1/4" ID) to be substantially more compact than typical high-flow, low-pressure CNC dust collection schemes (typically 4" ID)
