The Coinbase x402 protocol allows HTTP clients and servers to share blockchain-based payment data, and Google’s AP2 (agent payments protocol) is an open standard to let AI agents carry out financial transactions. However, AP2 does not yet enable blockchain payments or autonomous payments.
