In this Tech Tip Tuesday, we cover the basics of setting up and using ForeFlight with your AV-30-E display. Starting with software version 3.2.0, the AV-30-E can use AV-Link to display ForeFlight flight plans directly on the instrument. When paired with a GPS position source from an ADS-B receiver such as a Sentry, or from an iPad or iPhone running ForeFlight, the AV-30-E can compute additional navigation data, including autopilot guidance, based on the active ForeFlight flight plan. Before beginning setup, we review the required software versions and what needs to be updated to ensure compatibility. Detailed software update steps will be covered in a separate video. In this video, you’ll learn how to: - Confirm the required software versions for AV-30-E, AV-Link, AV-HSI, and ForeFlight - Enable ForeFlight integration in the AV-30-E setup menu - Select ForeFlight as the active navigation source - Identify the connected device using the displayed IP address - Send AV-30-E AHRS data to ForeFlight for use with Synthetic Vision This video walks through the initial configuration needed to get ForeFlight and the AV-30-E communicating properly before flight. #avionics #uavionix #av30 #av30e #foreflight #foreflightintegration #electronicflightinstrument #efis #generalaviation #gaaviation #experimentalaviation #aircraftavionics #flightplanning #avlink #adsb #sentryadsb #syntheticvision #ahrs #autopilotguidance #pilottraining #avionicssetup
