Once you've sewn your buttonholes, as demonstrated in one of the previous tutorial videos, in this video we show you how to sew on buttons with ease using your bernette 35 or 33. Lower the feed dog and attach the button-sew-on foot. Then select the zigzag stitch, place the button under the presser foot and lower the foot. Using the handwheel, check whether the needle is in the right place or if you need to adjust the stitch width to the distance between the holes in the button. Sew about 10 stitches, making sure you leave sufficient length when trimming the threads. Using a hand sewing needle, you can now wind the threads around the thread shank and then knot them on the reverse.
