baby spasms

this video is now public, since similar videos helped with our diagnosis, and i'd like to help other people in our position. about every 6 seconds, he tenses the same way. this goes on for maybe 10 minutes after waking up. this is our boy, about 6 months ago. the seizures are called 'infantile spasms', and they can come from a variety of causes. in his case, it was diagnosed as 'cryptogenic', meaning it comes from some underlying cause, but the doctors have no idea what that cause is. he went on ACTH to treat the spasms, and they cleared up immediately. after starting ACTH, it took about 5 days till the seizures were gone. the ACTH, however, is really rough. the next 2 months were hell. between the seizures and the drugs, his mind and body were completely reset. he's now 11 months old, and starting to do some of the development he should have done around 3 months. the prognosis is good, he seems to be mostly ok, and with luck, he'll catch up on his development, and grow into a normal healthy boy. the road so far has been rough, though.
