Source - Backdraft (1991 Film)
A backdraft is a dangerous and potentially explosive fire phenomenon that occurs when a fire in an enclosed space has consumed most of the available oxygen but continues to smolder, producing heat and flammable gases. When fresh oxygen is suddenly introduced the mixture can ignite violently, causing a rapid combustion or explosion. This sudden ignition can send flames and pressure outward, posing a severe risk to firefighters and occupants.
