Reasons for Board Blindness
Fatigue – back to back matches, long taxing matches, lack of hydration
Board size – reaching for checkers
Presumption – playing what looks obvious
Speed – playing too fast, not using clock time
Solutions to Board Blindness
Use the 12 second delay on the clock
Scan ALL four quadrants of the board before picking up your dice
Consider your second best move
Anticipate moves when your opponent is on roll
